Five Devi Darshan in Himachal

Tour Duration: 2 Nights / 3 Days

Embark on a soul-stirring spiritual journey with our specially curated Five Devi Darshan in Himachal Package and experience the divine aura of the “Dev Bhoomi” – Himachal Pradesh. This sacred pilgrimage will take you to 5 Devi Temples of Goddess Durga in Himachal, where devotion blends beautifully with the serene charm of the Himalayas.

Shakti Peeth – Sacred Seats of the Divine Mother

Shakti Peeth (also called Shakti Pithas) are revered shrines of the Goddess that hold immense significance in Shaktism. These sacred places are devoted to the worship of Adi Shakti, the primordial form of Goddess Durga, and are among the most important pilgrimage destinations for devotees seeking divine blessings.

The Puranas, including the Srimad Devi Bhagavatam, describe numerous Shakti Peethas spread across the Indian subcontinent. Each site is sanctified as a place where a part of Goddess Sati fell, and is associated with unique legends and forms of the Divine Mother.

In Himachal Pradesh, often called Dev Bhoomi (the land of Gods), there are four highly revered Shakti Peethas:

1)Shri Naina Devi Shaktipeeth
  • Location: Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh
  • Legend: According to mythology, when Lord Vishnu cut Goddess Sati’s body with his Sudarshan Chakra, her eyes (naina) fell at this spot, making it one of the most revered Shakti Peethas.
  • Significance: The temple is dedicated to Maa Naina Devi, symbolizing vision, wisdom, and inner sight. It is a major pilgrimage site, especially during Navratri.
  • Special Note: The temple is also closely linked with the story of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who performed a yagna here before his battle against the Mughals.

2)Shri Chintpurni Shaktipeeth
  • Location: Una district, Himachal Pradesh
  • Legend: It is believed that the feet of Goddess Sati fell here. The Goddess is worshipped as Chhinnamastika Devi or Chintpurni Devi, who removes worries (chinta) and grants blessings.
  • Significance: Devotees come here to seek freedom from worries and fulfillment of desires. The temple is considered very powerful for wish-fulfillment.
  • Special Note: The atmosphere during festivals like Navratri Mela is vibrant and attracts thousands of pilgrims.

3)Shri Jwala Ji Shaktipeeth
  • Location: Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh
  • Legend: Here, the tongue of Sati is said to have fallen. The temple is unique because it has natural eternal flames that burn continuously without any fuel source.
  • Significance: Maa Jwala Ji is worshipped as the Goddess of light and energy. This temple is one of the most miraculous and mysterious shrines in India.
  • Special Note: The Mughal emperor Akbar once tested the flame’s authenticity but later became a devotee and offered a golden umbrella (chhatra) at the temple.

4)Shri Brajeshwari Devi Shaktipeeth (Nagarkot / Kangra Wali Mata)
  • Location: Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh
  • Legend: The left breast of Goddess Sati is believed to have fallen at this site, symbolizing nurturing and motherly love.
  • Significance: Maa Brajeshwari Devi is worshipped here as the protector and nourisher. The temple is considered one of the oldest and most powerful Shakti Peethas.
  • Special Note: The temple was once immensely wealthy and was even looted by invaders like Mahmud of Ghazni. Despite destruction, it has been rebuilt many times and continues to shine as a beacon of faith.

The Two Siddhpeeths (Spiritual Power Centers)
In addition to the four Shaktipeeths, the Devi Darshan Yatra also includes two Siddhpeeths, believed to hold divine spiritual energy:

  • Shri Chamunda Devi
  • Shri Baglamukhi Devi

Itinerary for Five Devi Darshan

Day 1
Arrival & Start of Pilgrimage - Chintapurni Ji - Jwala Ji

Your can start your spiritual journey from Amb Andaura, from here, you will be received and driven to Maa Chintapurni Devi Ji, located in the Una District of Himachal Pradesh.

Morning Drive to Shri Chintapurni Ji Shaktipeeth
Begin your day with a scenic drive towards Chintapurni Devi Temple. This sacred shrine is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths of India. According to legend, the feet of Maa Sati fell at this place. The temple is dedicated to Chintapurni Devi, also known as Chhinnamastika Devi—the goddess who fulfills the worries of her devotees.
As per the Shri Markandeya Purana, when Mother Chandi defeated the demons, she cut off her own head to quench the blood thirst of her yogini aides, Ajaya and Vijaya, with her blood. This self-sacrificial act is why she came to be known as Chhinnamastika Devi. The temple holds great spiritual significance, and touching the lotus feet of the goddess is believed to bring peace and blessings.

Drive to Jwala Ji (Post Visit):
After darshan at Naina Devi, proceed to the sacred temple of Maa Jwala Ji, located in the Kangra district.

Afternoon Visit – Jwala Ji Shaktipeeth:
The Jwala Ji Temple is one of the most revered Shaktipeeths, where Maa Sati is worshipped in the form of an eternal flame (Paawan Jyoti) emerging from rock fissures. This temple is unique as it doesn’t have an idol—the flame itself is considered the divine form of the goddess.

The temple performs five Aartis daily, and experiences large gatherings during Chaitra and Ashwin Navratras, as well as the month of Shravan. Tuesdays and Fridays are considered especially auspicious, with special poojas being performed on these days. Later return to your hotel for over night stay.

Day 2

Bagla Mukhi - Brajeshwari Devi – Chamunda

We begin the day with a spiritually enriching visit to Maa Baglamukhi Temple, one of the ten Mahavidyas in Shaktism. Revered for her divine power to subdue enemies and dispel negativity, devotees believe that wishes made here—especially after performing homagni and hawan—are granted. People come seeking success in legal matters, exams, personal goals, and overall life peace.
The name Baglamukhi is derived from two Sanskrit words: Bagala (meaning “bride”) and mukhi (“face”), symbolizing the goddess’s hypnotic and captivating power that defeats evil. Yellow, believed to be the deity's favourite colour, dominates the temple’s ambiance—from its painted walls to the yellow attire of the devotees and the yellow sweets offered as prasad.
The temple becomes especially vibrant during festivals like Navratri, Guru Purnima, and Vasant Panchami, celebrated with special pujas and aartis.

Afternoon : Visit to Brajeshwari Devi Temple (Nagarkot Dham), Kangra

After check out, we drive towards Kangra to visit the sacred Shree Nagarkot Vajreshwari Devi Temple, also known as Brajeshwari Devi Shaktipeeth. This temple is believed to be a powerful healing center where devotees are relieved of suffering merely by catching a glimpse of the goddess.

Inside the sanctum sanctorum, three divine pindis are worshipped:
  • Mother Vajreshwari (main deity)
  • Mother Bhadrakali
  • Mother Ekadashi

This is also the place where the legendary devotee Dhyanu Bhakt offered his head to the goddess. Followers of Dhyanu often visit dressed in yellow, considering it highly auspicious.
The most significant festival celebrated here is Makar Sankranti (mid-January). Legend says that after slaying Mahishasura, the goddess was injured and healed herself by applying butter to her body. During this festival, the pindi is covered with butter, which devotees later take home as it is believed to cure skin ailments.

Evening : Arrival at Chamunda & Darshan at Chamunda Devi Temple

Later, we proceed to Chamunda, where you'll check in to your pre-booked hotel and relax for a while.

In the evening, we visit the powerful Chamunda Devi Temple, nestled amidst the scenic Dhauladhar hills. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, a fierce form of Goddess Durga, and is considered the combined abode of Shiva and Shakti.

Behind the temple is a cave-like recess where a lingam of Lord Nandikeshwar Shiva is enshrined beneath a sacred boulder. Nearby, a water tank houses the idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Saraswati. The soothing chants and the temple’s natural surroundings make it an ideal place for peace, prayer, and reflection.

Night Stay: Hotel in Chamunda

Day 3

Naina Devi - Departure Anandpur Sahib / Chandigarh / Pathankot

After check out we will drive for about 4 hours to reach Naina Devi. Shri Naina Devi Ji Shaktipeeth is one of India’s most revered spiritual destinations. Perched atop a picturesque hill at an altitude of 1,219 meters in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, the temple offers not only a deep spiritual experience but also breath taking natural vistas.
Built in the 8th century by Raja Bir Chand, this ancient temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in Hindu mythology. It is believed that the eyes (Naina) of Devi Sati fell here, giving the temple its name and spiritual significance.

Reaching the Temple
Your spiritual journey to the temple is as enriching as the destination itself, winding through lush hills and offering spectacular views of the Gobind Sagar Lake and the lower Himalayas.

There are three ways to ascend to the temple:
  • By foot: Take the well-constructed stairs, ideal for devotees who wish to walk as an act of devotion.
  • By road: Vehicles can go up to a certain point, followed by a short and easy climb.
  • By ropeway: Enjoy a comfortable and scenic ride directly to the hilltop, with panoramic views that make the journey unforgettable.

After Darshan: Journey to Anandpur Sahib Railway Station
Once you've experienced the darshan and the divine aura of the temple, your descent begins. A comfortable 1-hour drive takes you to Anandpur Sahib Railway Station. The route passes through peaceful countryside and rolling hills, giving you time to reflect on your spiritual experience.

At Anandpur Sahib, you’ll board your return train —carrying with you not just souvenirs, but the blessings of Maa Durga and the memory of a journey that touched the soul.
